I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Gupta and his team. As a healthcare worker, I strongly feel that, when looking for a good surgeon, you should always ask the surgical nurses who to go to. The nurses I work with all said that Dr. Gupta would be their first choice for a plastic surgeon.

Nipple Reconstruction
The Procedures
- This procedure occurs in the office and takes about 30 minutes.
- Local anesthetic will be used to numb the area and constrict the blood vessels.
- The mastectomy skin is typically numb and does not have any sensation.
- Patients are very comfortable throughout this procedure.
- A small incision on the center portion of the breast.
the tissue is lifted and folded, and a nipple bud is created. - The incision will be closed in multiple layers with dissolvable sutures.
- Incision will be covered with antibiotic ointment, xeroform gauze and a simple protective gauze dressing.
Post-Op
When leaving the clinic, you will have thick gauze dressing to protect the new nipple from pressure or compression. Leave this dressing in place for 48 hours, no showering.
Aftercare:
- After 48 hours, remove bandage we place, and shower as normal.
- Redress nipple with antibiotic ointment & thick gauze protective dressing.
- Continue these dressing changes daily for 4 weeks.
Final Stage of Reconstruction
- Approximately 2 months after your nipple reconstruction we will clear you for the areola tattoo.
- The tattoo is not performed in the office, but we have some artists we can refer you to. Sometimes this is covered by insurance, however not all artists accept insurance.
